(11/12/10) Hong Kong Economic Journal Reviews Betrayal of American Prosperity

Can America?s Decline Be (Easily) Reversed?

As someone who studies and teaches international business, I was immediately attracted by the title of the book.

The book focuses on what went wrong in the American economy and how to revitalize it. The topic is especially relevant now as the U.S. government is making great efforts to lift its economy out of the recession, culminated at the recent announcement of the second ?quantitative easing? (QE2). Thus if the book offers new tricks that we have not already tried, we must learn them.

The author, Clyde Prestowitz, who possesses rich experience in both business and government, has been involved with U.S. policy making and advising CEOs and politicians on issues of international trade and investment.
